This isn't just an art course

It’s a gentle return to the parts of you that may have gone quiet. You know, the ones who used to create freely, without apology or pressure.

Somewhere along the way (between caregiving, deadlines, expectations, and all the roles you’ve carried) you may have forgotten how to hear your own creative voice.
This course is your invitation to remember.

Over four soft, sacred weeks, we’ll make honest, expressive art. We’ll paint for freedom, not perfection.
We’ll journal without judgment.
We’ll create as a way to become again
.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need fancy supplies.
Just a desire to reconnect with yourself and a willingness to show up exactly as you are.

Because this isn’t about making “good” art.
It’s about making true art.
The kind that feels like you.

I Hear You:

Let’s Clear Up the What-Ifs

Because saying yes to your creativity can feel big, and I want you to feel supported every step of the way. These answers are here to ease your mind and open your heart.

What if I’m not “good” at art?
You don’t need to be an artist to join this course. This is about expressive, soulful art; the process, not perfection. If you can hold a brush or scribble in a journal, you’re ready. Come as you are.

How much time will this take each week?
Plan for about 1–2 hours per week, but there’s no rigid schedule. You can move at your own pace, and everything is designed to work around your life.

What supplies do I need?
Nothing fancy! You’ll get a simple supply list after enrolling, but most of it includes things like a sketchbook or journal, some paint, a pen or two, and whatever art materials bring you joy.

What does “beta course” mean?
This is the very first version of Free Your Creative Soul, and you’re invited to help shape it! As a beta student, you’ll receive a huge discounted rate and be part of the creative shaping process by offering gentle feedback and reflections as we go. I have limited the amount of students so we are sure to have a close and encouraging group.

Will there be live sessions?
Yes! We’ll have weekly live Zoom calls where we gather for casual art-making, Q&A, or heart-centered chats. These are relaxed, welcoming spaces to connect and ask questions. You don’t need to attend all of them, but showing up for at least one will help you really experience the heart of the course.

How long do I have access to the course?
You’ll receive lifetime access to all the content, including future updates. That said, I encourage you to join us weekly during the beta round if you can—it’s the best way to get the full experience and offer your valuable insight as we shape this together.

Your instructor

Hi, I’m Amy K. Murray - a mixed media artist, journal keeper, and creative guide for women who feel like they’ve lost touch with who they are.

After spending years homeschooling and teaching in classrooms, being a full on boy-mom, and carrying all the roles and responsibilities of midlife, I found myself burned out, creatively numb, and deeply disconnected from my own voice. What saved me? A paintbrush, a blank page in a journal, and the permission to make messy, meaningful art with no expectations. That’s when everything began to shift.

Through intuitive, layered art journaling, I slowly uncovered my creative soul again, not the one shaped by trends or perfectionism, but the one that had been quietly waiting for me to come home. Now, nothing brings me more joy than helping other women do the same. I’ve spent over 17 years teaching art and guiding creative exploration. I hold a degree in art education and have worked with hundreds of students, from children to women in their 60s, rediscovering their creative fire for the first time in decades.

I believe that creativity is sacred. That your voice matters.
And that the act of making — even just a smudge of color or a few scribbled lines — can be a profound form of healing, remembering, and becoming.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me chasing the ocean breeze in Virginia Beach, exploring and boating around here or on all our nearby lakes, sewing or knitting something new and colorful, or sipping coffee, reading with my sweet cockapoo curled at my feet.

Whether you’re just picking up a paintbrush again or already journaling your heart out, know that you are welcome here.
Let’s free your creative soul, together.
